The NLT curriculum design was guided by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and Global Scale of English (GSE).
The content of each training type was also designed based on elements of Dr Stephen Krashen’s Natural Order Hypothesis (1977), and Dr James Cummins’ Basic Interpersonal Communicative Skills (1979), as well as West’s General Service List (1956) of the most frequently used words in English, as updated by John Bauman and Brent Culligan (1995); Gabby’s NLT training topics include Business and Finance, Current Events, Travel, Dining, At the Office, Family and Friends, and Technology.
UG Builders and UG Structure materials were designed based on elements of Noam Chomsky’s Universal Grammar Theory, in collaboration with the research of Dr. Kuniyoshi Sakai from the University of Tokyo.
